The Challenge

The Minnesota State Fair is the biggest in the country, pulling in over two million people every year.

In 2025, it was officially ranked the #1 state fair in the U.S.

Also a massive part of Minnesota culture and a magnet for travelers across the US.

But here’s the issue: Deaf and hard of hearing residents didn’t have equal access to the Fair’s most important info. Safety rules, entry guidelines, visitor services…all stuck in English text.

For many of the 11+ million Deaf and hard of hearing Americans, it’s not enough. ASL is its own language. Without ASL access, people were left guessing.

The Solution?

That’s where we came in. The State Fair teamed up with ASLize to take their Accessibility Guidelines to the next level! We handled the whole thing, start to finish:

Discovery

Sat down with Fair staff to figure out which guidelines mattered most.

ASL Gloss

Our native ASL team built a full gloss of the scope to make sure everything flowed clearly before cameras rolled.

Filming & Editing

Shot and refined videos that felt natural, accurate, and true to ASL.

Intergration

Dropped a simple “ASL” button right on the Fair’s website. One click, and you’re watching the guidelines in ASL.

The Results

For the first time ever, the Minnesota State Fair’s accessibility guidelines were available in ASL. Instantly accessible via ‘ASL’ option embedded directly on the Accessibility Guide on the State Fair’s site. And it made a difference right away:

✅ Families showed up prepared — no more piecing together English text.

✅ Trust grew — the Fair proved accessibility is part of who they are.

✅ Fast and efficient — our workflow delivered without wasted resources.

ASL link integrated directly on the MN State Fair’s site.

The Takeaway

With one small button, the Minnesota State Fair broke down a big barrier.

Thousands of Deaf and hard of hearing residents finally got equal access in their own language.

That's what accessibility should be: natural, simple and empowering.

It was truly a privilege to work with the MN State Fair team!!
